Reel-life Heroes and Real-life Heroes

Flint Lockwood’s crazy contraption raining food would certainly make quite an impact on the fight against childhood hunger.  His machine may be fiction, but Sony Pictures, the creators of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, are making a difference in real life by donating 100,000 pounds of fresh produce to Feeding America food banks nationwide!

And while that’s impressive, it doesn’t take Hollywood or its movie heroes to save the day!

South Georgia farmers and packing sheds generously give of their harvests to feed the families, children and elderly people in our area. Our Farm to Family program has collected and distributed nearly 3 million pounds of produce year to date.

Thank you to our local hunger heroes.  You truly do save the day!
