We Need Your Help

Many Ways To Give

The fight against hunger in South Georgia is not something we can do alone.  Without donors and volunteers, we couldn’t exist, but together we can make a difference in South Georgia.

Give Food

You Have The Power To Make An Immediate Difference In The Fight Against Hunger

By donating food, you can help ensure that children, families, and seniors across South Georgia have the nutrition they need to thrive.  Second Harvest of South Georgia depends on donations to provide food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters with the food and groceries they need to serve the community.  The fight against hunger is one that we can win if we work together.

Types of Food Donations

Individual or One-time Donations

One-time donations may be dropped off at any of our warehouses during normal operating hours.  Locations are here.

Ongoing Donations

Our product recovery program is one of the mainstays of our food bank program. Our Product Recovery Program collects food from many local food donors across South Georgia including retailers, wholesalers, processors, and distributors.  Donors may be eligible for a tax deduction.  Our records regarding to your donation are open for your review ensuring that you know where each and every pound was used.  All food donations are protected under the Good Samaritan Act, shielding donors from liability concerns.

Farm to Family

By participating in our Farm to Family program, produce growers and distributors are able to put perishable fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded to good use.  During the produce growing season, Second Harvest collects produce donations from area farmers and packing sheds for use in our Food Bank, Kids Cafe, and Mobile Food Pantry programs.  Donations may be eligible for a tax deduction.

Food Drives

You (or your organization!) can host a Peer-to-Peer Fund Drive to help raise donations for the Second Harvest of South Georgia Food Bank. Donations allow us to put your dollars toward the greatest area of need. Because $1 can provide 8.77 meals, you can make a huge difference with anything you raise.

Food Drives are always a great way to help support our mission, and a great way to get your school, church, or business involved in helping fight hunger. We’ve created a Registration Toolkit to help make your food drive the best it can be.
