During the course of our various programs and activities, it is frequently necessary for us to collect and use personal information.  The information we gather through our website, other communications tools or other means (e.g. volunteer registrations, agency applications, etc.) will be used solely to respond to inquiries, record and acknowledge contributions, and inform individuals of Second Harvest of South Georgia activities.

Second Harvest defines personal information as any information that can be used to distinguish, identify, or contact a specific individual. This information can include an individual’s opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, the individual.   We do not consider the following to be personal information: business contact information, readily available public information (such as that printed in a telephone directory), acknowledgement of a gift in a donor category, or home contact information provided as business contact information.  Donors are offered the opportunity to make contributions anonymously.

Second Harvest of South Georgia’s website collects information about visitors to our site through the use of cookies.  If you do not have cookies enabled on your web browser, no cookie will be set.  The information collected may include browser type, operating system, IP address, which pages within the site you visit, etc.  We use this information to analyze usage trends, administer the site, and track our users’ movements across our site for aggregate use. Any personal information which is shared with or gathered by Second Harvest will be carefully protected, and it is our policy to never sell, rent exchange or in any way share personal information to third parties, except as is required to accomplish the work of Second Harvest of South Georgia. Our personnel are authorized to access personal information only based on their need to deal with the information for the reason(s) for which it was obtained.  We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share our mailing lists.
